33rd foire aux fromages et aux vins – Compiègne, France
* foire aux fromages et aux vins * the cheese and wine fair in Compiègne just an hour drive north east of Paris opens its gate for the 33rd time this year.
As the name implies there will loads of wine and at least as much cheese!

For the 31st(!) time the FÊTE DU FROMAGE takes place in Banon in the Alpes-de-Hautes Provence in France. This one day event offers everything a cheeselover´s heart is longing for!
There will be shows on Banon cheese production, sheep dog demonstrations and the Banon d´Or ceremony.
To round up your your Banon experience the organizers make sure to supply you with loads of bread, wine and plenty of other cheeses from the Pyrenees.

Fête de la transhumance et de la tourte – Munster, France

The time of the year has come for Transhumance festivities! This one takes place in Munster, just a 20minute drive from Colmar near the german border.
Every other year the town has a big feast on the return of the Vosges cows down to the valleys.
There will be cheese-making demonstrations, mini-farm, dances and horns of the Alps not to mention the tasting of the pie at the Salle des Fêtes. Besides the market all shops will be open!

Goat cheese season already started and as promised May will be the month we will introduce some white delights every cheese lover dreams of.
As you all know there are as many variants of goat cheese as there is sand on a beach and therefor our selection was driven by personal cravings, curiosity and a hint of conservatism.
Today we introduce a super fresh and sparkly french gal as well as two somewhat more earnest compatriats. – Curtain up!
On Sunday 9th of August the anual Fête du Fromage de Vallée d’Aspe takes place for the 27th time!

Today about 190 farms cover an area of 13 villages and are home to many, many ewes, cows and goats – don’t miss out on this great event. The cheeses – I promise – are incredibly delicous!
