When in February we are all longing for a soon spring to come. And with spring finally arrives the time of farmstead goat cheese. To shorten the time for you we introduce *Vermenton*, a raw milk goat´s milk representative from the Burgundy region in east-central France which we were lucky enough to catch before.
It´s the 41st time that the Cheese and gastronomy fair – Sainte-Maure de Touraine takes place!
Traditionally the event will take place on the first weekend of June and will also host an interregional cheese competition which is open to all cheese products with an emphasize on PDO goat cheeses!

More than 40 producers from France will share their -mostly raw milk! – products with you.
National Cheese Competition:
For the first time at this event there will also be a cheese competition. The jury consists of such esteemed figures as Francois Robin, Pierre Gay and Fabien Degoulet!

There will be on screen insights of the history and making of cheese as well as two round tables with talks on everything cheese!

For the 31st (!) time the salon de vins et fromages will take place in Arpajon in the Île-de-France region of France. Over 50 vendors will showcase the best of French wine and cheese delicacies and will make sure your bellies and bags will be full to the limit!

Every two years the town of Niort in western France becomes the place to meet for goat breeders, suppliers of fodder and equipment and after all cheese makers.
In 2018 more than 7000 visitors and delegates from 25 countries made their way to Niort and although CAPRINOV might be a fair mainly for professionals it offers many interesting things to all of us!
As every year – new location, same sensation!
In 2023 the Savoie Cheese Festival will take place on the territory of the IGP Raclette de Savoie in Frangy.
Savoy is the birthplace of cheeses like AOP Beaufort or the renown Reblochon AOP!
But I am certain you will also be able to get your hands on the other 6 signature cheeses of Savoy – AOP Abondance, AOP Chevrotin, IGP Emental de Savoie, AOP Tome des Bauges, IGP Tomme de Savoie and the youngest of the IGP group – the Raclette de Savoie.
It’s an event for the whole family and knowing the area I am quite positive that you will find plenty cheesy-gems as well as other delicious foods and drinks.

For the 14th time the Coupe de France des Fromagers will take place in Chassieu just a 30min drive from downtown Lyon.
What the Cheesemonger Invitational is to the US the Coupe de France des Fromagers is to France.
The event is open only to professional and in the end 16 candidates will compete for the titel of “French Champion of 2023”
On their way to victory the candidates are challenged with the following tasks:
– A mystery exam on cheese knowledge
– A blind tasting of 5 cheeses
– A creativity test of assembling a tray
– An oral exam
– A test of dexterity
By the way this event is an offspring of *Shira* the professional trade show for the catering and hotel industry that takes place at the EuroExpo Lyon from January 19th to January 23rd.
On Sunday November 6th the 16th edition of Cheese in Music will take place in Ogeu les Bains in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in south-western France.
It´s a day dedicated to the mountain pasture cheese that is flagshipping the region. There will be a competition as well as cheese-making demonstrations and of course many market stalls to fill up your bellies!
