This year on the weekend of August 18th, the famous blue cheese AOP Bleu d´Auvergne again is featured in a well-deserved festival in its honour.
On 2 days you can taste more Blue cheese than your body can take and wander through a market with more than 100 exhibitors offering all kinds of local products – wine, salumi, honey and delicious liqueurs.
Bleu d´Auvergne by the way might not be the strongest blue cheese you have ever tasted but its creamy paste spoils you with a lot of spicyness and a pricky taste which pairs great with sweet wines. The little town of Riom-es-Montagnes is about 1.5h south of Clermont-Ferrand and worth a visit also outside of festival times.
Some events change dates or get canceled. Make sure to always check official sites before booking tickets or heading to an event.
