Every year 2 weeks before Easter the little town of Hüsten welcomes guests and cheeses from near and afar to its International Cheesemarket!

Also this year you will find cheeses from Austria, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and of course from Germany – all there for you to try and enjoy!

Swiss Cheese Awards 2024 – Bern, Switzerland

Finally after a 2 year wait it´s time for the 13th Swiss Cheese Awards!

In 2024 up to 1000 cheeses in 32 categories will run for being the best of Switzerland!

150 jurors from all over the world decide for the best cheeses in each category, which later on can be tasted at a long mouthwatering buffet!

Of the winning cheeses in each category 3 will be crowned at the Lugano Cheese Festival to be the top of the Swiss notch!

 

 

Robiola di Roccaverano DOP -don´t mess with Rocky Balboa

With cheese it is sometimes like with good, old friends. You haven’t seen them in forever and all of a sudden your paths cross and it seems like no time has passed. You still can laugh and talk all night and realize how much you’ve missed each other.
Kind of a similar thing happened to us with today’s guest. Long time- no see, and boom!;
Ran into him and immediately fell in love again. *Robiola di Roccaverano DOP* from the Piedmont.

Not everyone of us can go to *Cheese* this year. So for those who have to stay at home, here some memories of cheese 2019. Some things I am sure have changed, others are still the same.

World Cheese Awards – Trondheim, Norway

This year the World Cheese Awards, the event every cheese lover is waiting for will take place at Spektrum in Trondheim, Norway. 

As many as 4.500 cheeses from over 40 countries will be judged by an international jury and everyone interested will be able to sample cheeses and find out more about the competition. With your festival ticket you will also be able to visit the Artisan Cheese Market where you can fill up your bags with delicious pals to take home!

Organized by the Guild of Fine Food, it’s the 34th edition of the worlds largest cheese competition and an exciting event for every cheese lover on the planet!

On August 12th the anual Festiwal Sera or easier to understand the anual cheese festival will take place in Wisla, Poland.

Also on the decks – regional delicacies, cheese making shows, music and enough to drink the night away!

9th Druskininkai Cheese Festival – Druskininkai, Lithuania

It´s the 9th Druskininkai Cheese Festival !

I you have time to go – this is your itinerary for the Cheese Festival in Druskininkai !
If you don´t have time – take it!

Traditionally the event will start at 11am and there will be all kinds of cheesy entertainment!

Just to name a few you can:

  • witness the cheese contest
  • be part of the jury for the election of the public´s favorite cheese
  • watch blind tastings and the Cheese competition awards
  • listen to lectures and discussions and let your kids be part of a creative workshop with scientific experiments!
  • last but not least you have the rare opportunity to dance your extra cheesy pounds off at the finishing concert.

Tasting tickets are 30 Euros and will get you through the day!
