Formaggiastic! Welcome to the family!
Hello, I am Isabella, a German-Italian writer and photographer with a passion for cheese, food and travel. After almost 20 years of running my own architecture studio, I made a pivot into the world of food, combining my background in design with my love of cheese, photography and the storytelling of makers, places and the culture behind it.
Since 2019, I am running formaggiastic.com, a blog dedicated to cheese, its history and its culture. Originally a passion project, formaggiastic has developed into a platform for writing, photography, food styling, and collaborations with producers and other professionals in the field.
I am a certified cheese expert and have served several times as a judge at international cheese competitions. I also host guided tastings and cheeseful adventures and am running the world´s most complete cheese-event calendar.
Photography has become an equally important part of my work with my photographs having been shown in several exhibitions, including Say Cheese in Vienna, a collaboration with Natascha Auenhammer, and the group exhibitions Dinner with Friends I in Hustopeče, Czech Republic, and Dinner with Friends II at Zebralabor in Vienna.
My recent media appearances include hosting the Italian Instagram podcast Caseifici Agricoli, being a guest on the Austrian podcast Küchengespräche, and being featured on Austrian TV’s ORF Seitenblicke for my contribution to the photography exhibition Say Cheese.
I live and work between Vienna, Austria and Treviso, Italy.
