The * Festival del SILTER D.O.P * goes into its 5th round this year !
+Silter+ is a unique raw cow´s milk cheese of an inimitable taste, that takes its name from the room in the malga that was used for maturing the wheels.
The event starts Friday the 6th of January and will easily carry you through the whole weekend.
Friday 6 January
11.00AM Open House with Silter Dop and other products from Valle Camonica
4.00 PM Silter meets Valle Camonica honey and the formaggella of the MIFISSO innovation projects, The tasting will be guided by the master tasters of ONAF (National Organization of Cheese Tasters)
4.30 PM Music with Oscar Taboni follow cutting of the Silter DOP and inauguration of the festival in the presence of the authorities
11.00AM Opening of houses with Silter Dop and other products from Valle Camonica
4.00PM Silter meets Valle Camonica black thorny corn focaccia and rhubarb jam from the organic farm Shanty Maè, guided tasting by ONAF master tasters
11.00AM Openn House with Silter Dop and other products from Valle Camonica
11.30AM Silter meets wines of Valle Camonica, guided tasting by the Consorzio tutela Vini IGT Valle Camonica and by the master tasters of ONAF. The guided tastings will take place at the Pro Loco headquarters.
