Käse- und Gourmetfest Lindenberg – a cheesemile going into its 22nd year!
Let´s have fun at the Käse- and Gourmetfest in Lindenberg this year!
It´s a cheese festival that is traditionally opened by the major of Lindenberg, a little town near the Bodensee – and this year will open its gates on the 25th of August for all of us who want to eat cheese.
It promises to have at least 60 different cheesemongers- and -makers to make our day.
I have to admit that I haven´t been there – but it definitely sounds like an event to go to!

Käse- und Genussmarkt – Schwäbisch Hall/Wackershofen, Germany
Cheese festivals are dotted around the globe and even in the smallest towns there is a deep love for our friends.
The Käse- und Genussmarkt in Schwäbisch Hall is held in the setting of the Hohenloher outdoor museum and is a guaranteed pamper of at least 200 different kinds of cheeses!

Käsemarkt Maria Taferl – Austria
Also in 2023 Austria´s biggest cheese market will take place in Maria Taferl, Lower Austria.
250m of cheese-filled tables and many more things to taste and explore.
Last year the “Alles Käse Festival unfortunately had to be canceled and the only good thing we can say about this is that now we can celebrate its 25th birthday anew!
XXV Cheese Festival – Alles Käse, Kötschach-Mauthen, Austria
As the tradition implies, at the end of the summer, on the last weekend in September “Alles Käse” the corinthian cheese festival takes place in Kötschach-Mauthen. And this year it counts 25 years!
If you never had a traditionally produced Gailtaler Almkäse you should definitely not miss out on this event. Gustav says he heard there will also be a cheese queen. Well then…
Suisse Fondue Festival – Fribourg, CH
For the 1st (!) time this festival will take place in Fribourg Switzerland from November 17th until November 20th!
The fondue Moitié-Moitié is part of the cultural heritage of the city and canton Fribourg and is made by using
Guyère AOP cheese together with Vacherin Firbourgeois AOP.
Just for the festival the city of Fribourg built La Bûche , a 16m high structure with enough space for producers and guests alike.
Tickets are CHF29 for adults with special discounts for students and children under 16.
Children up to 6years are free of charge.
Käsefest Loosbühelalm – Grossarl, Austria
While this might not be the event to travel around the world for, it definitely is worth it when in the area and in the mood for a hike. Up on Loosbühelalm located at almost 1.800m above sea level there will be the possibility to taste cheeses made directly on the alm and have a refreshing drink in midst the panoramic mountainous setting of Austria. We say – things could be worse ;))

More than 50 dairies and producers from North Germany will come and let you taste their cheeses.
There will be live entertainment, discussion groups and tastings – and the whole day is dedicated to our beloved friends!
