This upcoming October the streets of Sondrio will once again shine in the light of raw-milk mountain cheeses at the Formaggi in Piazza.
For the 17th time Sondrio hosts the traditional event “Formaggi in Piazza” and will spoil you with free guided tours, vineyard walks and countless local products. If we are lucky also “La Combinada” will take place again. A competition of raw-milk cheeses, which used to be organized by the city of Sondrio together with the Consorzio Tutela Valtellina Casera e Bitto. Fingers crossed!

Mostra del Bitto – Morbegno, Italy
Last year more than 25.000 people made the pilgrimage to Morbegno, Lombardy to honor famous *Bitto* cheese for 114th time in history.
The * Mostra del Bitto * showcase event takes place every year and is also a festival in honor of the antique traditions of Valtellina.
There will be a horse and rider show, and you can participate in workshops , visit the so called “CALÈCC” or take part in a tasting.
Calèccs are the ancient stone constructions, which are covered with a mobile, tent like roof and can only be found in the Bitto valleys. They are scattered over the pastures and make the on-sight production of *Bitto* possible.
Stay alert: For some entrances and tastings you have to reserve in advance.
