Festival del Formaggio di Valle del Belice – Poggioreale, Italy

It´s official – Poggioreale is one of the “Città del Formaggio” that are selected every year by ONAF, the Italian association of cheese sommeliers!
To celebrate the  honor, the *Festival del Formaggio di Valle del Belice* will take place for the first time ever;
3 days of meetings, tastings, workshops and outdoor activities to celebrate the PDO cheeses of the area and a guaranteed fun experience for every cheese lover!

This is what you can expect:

Friday, May 2 
3:30 p.m.: Installation of the Onaf Master Tasters Commission and evaluation of the competing cheeses. 
6:00 p.m.: Workshop on agroecology, food education and sustainable tourism. 

Saturday, May 3 
10:00 a.m.: Seminar “Quality as an expression of the territory” and official ceremony for the awarding of the title “City of Cheese”. 
1:00 p.m.: “Piazza Elimo in Festa” with talk-show, show-cooking and tastings in the square. 
6:00 p.m.: Taste workshops with guided tastings. 
9:00 p.m.: Evening cultural moment. 

Sunday, May 4 
8:30 a.m.: Trekking walk along the Elimi paths – “10KM Poggioreale”. 
12.00: Guided tasting of DOP cheeses in collaboration with the Consorzio DOS Sicilia.
