Gustav and I often get asked which knives are best to use for cutting different types of cheeses. Gustav’s answer is, obviously, that you don´t need knives at all and just use your fangs—but mine naturally is not quite as simple.
Just a few days ago Gustav and presented a cheese from Georgia that came to us via secret paths. But unfortunately not all of our cheese messengers are equally successful and sometimes cheeses get confiscated – or, as we think, rapidly eaten up – by overly correct border controls.
Gustav and I are truly lucky people – we have messengers of whom some are family, some are friends, and often they are family or friends of friends who go through the effort of shopping and smuggling cheesy delights across borders and oceans for us to taste and share.
It´s Christmas time!
Gustav and I over the course of this year tried out and enjoyed so many old and new friends that we didn’t always manage to share our prey.
So as a Christmas countdown we challenged ourselves to present a new cheese every day!
We will also have X-mas present ideas and of course some taste descriptions for easier dinner party show-offs. Stay tuned! 🥂🧀🍾
Gustav says he made this year’s Christmas cheese countdown rock, and that for the big day he therefore demands to be the shining star!
Since he already headed off to wolves’ beach, today’s rating is entirely on me 😄🏄🏿♂🐾
I rate Gustav 1000/10 and wish him a happy Christmas surf, and all of you relaxed and cheeseful holidays 🧀🎄🥂
We will be back to work hunting our prey as soon as we get the sand out of our toes…..🐾😎
If you live in Vienna it´s almost mandatory to visit one of the many Christmas markets dotted over the city map. And as Gustav want´s to point out –
“where there is a market there is cheese, hence delicious to discover !”
For those of you who follow my Instagram account it is no news, but #formaggiastic went Cheese Berlin – the annual Cheese Festival taking place at Markthalle Neun in Berlin Kreuzberg. Spass!
* Dambal ´khacho * from Georgia secretly crossed borders and made it´s way to Vienna !
Unfortunately team formaggiastic cannot travel all the time but lucky us we have motivated messengers who cheesenturous search the world for new tasting experiences!
Cheese 2019 – I am sure that as a fellow cheese lover going to the bi-annual festival “Cheese” in Bra, Italy is for you, as it was for me, a long-held dream. With 300.000 visitors in 2017 and over 400 exhibitors this year it is one of the biggest and also most important cheese festivals in the world.
I finally got to go this year, and for those of you who couldn´t make it I put together some impressions from my visit.
